A trip to Seattle isn’t complete without a trip to the Space Needle – set your adt home security alarm and get over here to check out one of the most well-known landmarks in America! The real question is where to eat once you’re done exploring in the area
Revolution Bar and Grill – Typical American food that’s sure to please a family’s palette, this Queen Anne establishment is the right place to take a big group. It’s local, too, so you won’t have to deal with chain stuff.
Royal Thai Kitchen – It’s not much to look at on the outside but this place sure knows how to make authentic Thai cuisine. IF your family’s the adventurous kind have an Asian feast to remember before or after checking out the Needle.
Frankfurter – It’s a Seattle landmark, well, if you live here. Similar to a Coney Island dog when you’re in Seattle you’ve got to get a Frankfurter sausage. They’re crisp, fresh and totally different from the seafood you’re likely to find elsewhere in the city creating a trip memory you won’t soon forget.

The Seattle Space Needle is a tourist attraction found in Seattle, WA. The structure was built in 1962 as a symbol for the futuristic World’s Fair. It is a well known landmark for the area and is visited by many people.

The biggest attraction to the Space Needle is the observation sky deck. Visitors take an elevator to the top of the 520 foot structure and are able to see an incredible 360 degree view of the area. In addition to the view, this landmark also offers a restaurant and shopping area inside.Get more information here. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/02/space-needle-contest-trip-space_n_916048.html

SkyCity is a family friendly restaurant located in Seattle’s famous space needle. AOL also voted it as the “best restaurant with a view”. If you want to enjoy a great dining experience with a panoramic view, you definitely want to stop here for dinner, lunch, or brunch. This is also a great place to stop for a nice glass of wine.

The kid’s menu is a bit sophisticated but healthy. It features dishes like, “ Space Noodle” pasta prepared with parmesan, alfredo, or marinara sauce and the traditional cheeseburger. For grown ups there is the clam chowder and other fresh seafood options. You definitely pay for the view at SkyCity but the food can hold its own and is quite tasty. If you’re on a budget you may wish to enjoy an appetizer with a drink instead of full-course meal. They also serve Starbucks coffee for you caffeine lovers. Having Starbucks in the place it originated from is a treat within itself.

SkyCity also features a nice weekend brunch selection. Their brunch menu includes classics like Eggs Benedict, Belgium Waffles, and Hazelnut Crusted French Toast.

The revolving view is definitely worth a visit. SkyCity is a unique dining experience for obvious reasons and a great place to have a nice meal.

There is no doubt that Seattle is a wonderful place to visit. There is great food, Pike Place market is a must see and the view from the Space Needle is something you will always remember.

The Space Needle was built in 1962 for the World’s Fair and is still a wonderful attraction to visit today. It is said that a Seattle businessman sketched a drawing of the Space Needle on the back of a coffeehouse place mat.Check out this link here. The Space Needle is currently privately owned.

The Sky City Restaurant is a great way to enjoy the view. It is a noted restaurant and was named “Restaurant of the year” in 2009 by the Washington Wine Commission. They feature a weekend brunch that might be a good meal option for a casual weekend outing. This restaurant is family friendly and features a lot of great seafood options.

The guides who escort you to the observation deck are very knowledgeable and know a lot about the city of Seattle. Be sure to ask them any questions you have in addition to using the map available on the observation deck. If you want the best view, I suggest checking the weather reports. It’s better to go when the skies are clear and sunny.

The Space Needle was originally designed for the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, WA. It was designed by Edward E. Carlson and John Graham. The Stuttgart Tower in Germany served as Carlson’s inspiration and lead him to design a large balloon that was tethered to the ground. Graham finished the design by turning the balloon into a flying saucer. Additionally, the hourglass profile shape of the tower was designed by Victor Steinbrueck.

The Space Needle can withstand 200 mile per hour winds, which was twice the building code requirement in 1962. The Space Needle withstands the structural damage of earthquakes with magnitudes below 9 and Category 5 hurricane winds. When an earthquake with a 6.8 Richter Scale rating hit the Needle in 2001, the only major effect was that the water in the toilets sloshed everywhere.

In 1993, new elevators were installed. These new computerized elevators descend at 10 miles per hour.

Until 2000, the Space Needle had two restaurants in the “hovering disk” called the Space Needle Restaurant (formerly known as the Eye of the Needle) and Emerald Suite. The restaurants were closed for SkyCity, a bigger restaurant with Pacific Northwest cuisine, which rotates 360 degrees in 47 minutes.
